How to Upgrade Your AR’s Accuracy and Handling

Image
Out of the box, an M4 carbine rifle can be an accurate, high-performance firearm. You can find some very impressive models on the market today. But whether you’ve just acquired a new AR15 or you’ve been shooting the same rifle for the past several years, there’s always room for performance improvements. Performance can mean several different things. It can relate to the trigger pull, how the gun handles as it’s fired (and in the milliseconds after), or the accuracy of the shot. How to Avoid 4 Common Marksmanship Mistakes

Shooting, like many skills, requires time and practice to master. Hitting the target may seem easy on paper (just aim and fire), but there are plenty of common mistakes that can cause you to miss the mark. Thankfully, there are some tricks and tips you can use the next time you bring your M4A1 to the range. Keep these tips in mind, and you might see an improvement in your shooting! Practice your trigger squeeze at home by dry firing with a coin balanced on the end of the bar...

The proper rifle stance is often the difference between accurate shooting, even while shooting quickly, or completely missing the mark. From practicing at the range to being in the middle of a hunt, your shooting stance matters. The general way you position yourself and fire is the same whether you use an M4 carbine or a bolt-action rifle. Here are a few tips to help you improve your shooting stance. Try the Bladed-Off Stance for Precision The bladed-off stance starts with facing your off-hand shoulder towards the target. Your rifle should be tucked into your dominant-hand shoulder, usually in the “pocket,” and your dominant hand should be ready to squeeze the trigger. It’s a natural way to hold your M4A1 rifle or shotgun, and it’s the stance most commonly used among new shooters. A bladed-off stance puts you in a good position for precision shooting, and you will often see it used during competitions. The downside is that it is not very flexible, so it may not be ideal ...
